KCR Telangana Assembly DissolvedTelangana Assembly is now dissolved and the Governor has asked the current Cabinet to lead a Care Taker Government. The ball is now in the Election Commission’s Court to hold the elections. KCR would like to have the elections in November along with three states – Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan.

But EC can hold the elections anytime in the next Six Months and that can be extended for another six months as well if necessary. If or not the elections will be held in November will depend on the leverage KCR has with the Central Government. Even though the Central Government is not involved in this process, it is an open secret that it can influence EC to some extent.

Coming to the elections, TRS definitely has an edge over the Opposition in the state due to their Schemes as well as the utter disarray in the Opposite Camp. Even though the media does not report, there are traces on anti-incumbency in various constituencies on the government mainly due to the local MLAs. It will now all depend on how the Opposition penetrates there and the time they get for the preparation.

If the elections are stretched beyond 2018, the total purpose is lost and TRS may be in trouble. Congress is looking at redemption in all the three states going to elections in November. If it registers significant results there, the enthusiasm will be passed on to Telangana as well and then it will be a tight contest. So, it will all depend on what transpired between several meetings between KCR and Narendra Modi in the last couple of months or so.
