KCR Farmer Power cutThe statistics released by National Crime Records Bureau had released stunning figures about the farmers suicides in Telangana. A total of 12360 farmers’ suicides happened in 2014. Telangana is in the second place in the country in farmers’ suicides.

1347 farmers of Telangana had committed suicides last year while Maharashtra is in the first place. Situation is not so great in AP as well. 632 farmers have committed suicides during the same period in Andhra Pradesh.

The data says that Bankruptcy, Family Problems, Failure of Crop, illness, drug abuse and alcoholic addition are the major reasons for farmers suicides. Despite these staggering figures, there were allegations that NCRB is manipulating the data of these suicides to show the government’s over all rule as satisfactory.
