KCR - Narendra Modi The other day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given a new task to the people of the country who are under the Lockdown. He asked the people to switch off all the lights at 9 PM on April 5th and light a Diya or torch or Mobile Flash Light on their balconies to show their will power in combating Coronavirus.

However, there are apprehensions from the experts about this act since if the sudden drop and rise is not handled smoothly, the transmission lines could trip due to voltage surges. A blackout at this stage of a Pandemic could plunge the country into darkness.

Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhara Rao already supported this initiative of the Prime Minister. And now, Telangana Power Department is getting ready to ensure the smooth conduct of this task. Transco and Genco CMD assured that Telangana Power Grid is safe.

“Telangana Power Grid is unlikely to get affected with this task. We have taken all the necessary measures to keep the grid safe. All our employees are on their toes to ensure that there is no problem at all,” CMD Prabhakar Rao assured the People.
