Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has taken a U-Turn on his Snap Polls Idea. He clarified to his Cabinet Ministers that the elections will take place as per schedule in Summer 2019 and there is no use with the Snap Polls as they are anyways going to win the elections.
There are many theories regarding why KCR dropped the idea but then, the Opposition in Telangana is very much relieved on the clarification of KCR. All the parties including the main opposition party Congress are in utter disarray in the state.
They are not at all ready to face the elections at this time and are finally relieved knowing they have more time to prepare for the elections. In fact, KCR first mooted the idea of Snap Polls not to give time for the Opposition. They are now keeping a brave face and taking on KCR saying that the Chief Minister ran away fearing defeat.
