telangana-new-districts-bring-real-estate-boomThe Creation of 21 new districts has paved way for realty boom in all the districts in Telangana. People even in the interior areas are in a mad rush for the conversion of agriculture land to non-agriculture land for commercial and residential purposes. The demand is particularly high in the areas surrounding the new district headquarters.

Reports are emerging that the officials have approved the conversion of 600 acres and applications for conversion of another 800 acre are pending. The government already constituted a state-level technical committee comprising senior IAS officers to accord approvals, alleging corruption in local bodies to grant approvals.

Many of the applications are for converting agricultural lands for the construction of malls, schools, hospitals, showrooms etc. Farm land parcels sought for non-agriculture uses range from five acres to 10 acres. But then 80% of the applications are for residential purpose. They say converting to residential is easy and the owners will later divert it to commercial use.
