Telangana Govt Sitting on 6000 Crore Central ProjectsTelangana Government is sitting tight on centrally-sponsored projects worth Rs 8,000 crore that were conceived to ease vehicular traffic congestion in the state by developing six state highways into national highways in the state.

These projects were sanctioned last year but they were not moving anywhere as the state government has failed to acquire land to develop the six road stretches into four-lane national highways. Even the alignment of a couple of roads is not complete.

The projects will require over 4650 acres to be acquired across 12 districts of the state. There are political rumours that the government is intentionally delaying these projects as they do not want to irk the people in the name of land acquisition ahead of 2019 elections.
