Telangana Govt Sits on Arrears of Small and Medium IndustriesTelangana Government always boasts of its much acclaimed industrial approval policy, TS-iPASS under which approvals to set up industries are sanctioned within 15 days through a single-window online system. According to TS-iPASS, if the green signal is not given within the mandatory time, the approval will be deemed to have been granted on the 16th day.

Telangana Government is yet to reimburse 1200 Crore of arrears citing lack of funds according to an English tabloid report. 410 Crore to General Category Entrepreneurs, 94 Crore to industrial units under the SCs category and 124 crores under the ST category.

The government also owes 610 crores under the T-PRIDE scheme, launched by the government to promote entrepreneurship among the Dalits. Entrepreneurs who have come forward investments of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) basing on these incentives are now struggling.

However, Telangana Government says that it has inherited 2000 Crore arrears from undivided AP and have cleared all those arrears recently and in the meanwhile, fresh arrears have accumulated. Telangana government is planning to clear them by March.
