Telangana Appoints New Collectors, Telangana Govt Appoints Collectors 31 Districts, Telangana Govt Appoints Young IAS, Telangana 31 New Districts CollectorsDistricts Reorganization will take time to showcase the good results in administration but it has helped junior bureaucrats and Group-1 officials get posts which took longer to reach in undivided AP. Earlier it used to take nine years for IAS officers and six for IPS to become collectors and superintendent of police in the districts.

But then districts reorganization changed it all. Many Junior IAS officials some from 2012 batch have been posted as collectors for some districtors. At least four of the present collectors are of 2012 batch and there were six others from the 2011 and 2010 batches. The senior-most appointee was Adilabad collector Jyothi Buddha Prakash from 2002 batch.

However there are concerns that whether lack of experience in administrative matters would become a factor. Both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are facing severe crunch of IAS and IPS officers post the state bifurcation. The crunch just got increased due to the districts reorganization in Telangana. Both the state governments are urging the Center to increase the cadre for them.
