Talasani Srinivas YadavSakshi Today carried a Story saying that the Health Department has recommended the Government to shut down the theaters to contain the spread of the Coronavirus. In case it is not possible, at least the occupancy should be limited to 50%, the recommendation said, according to the story.

This has sent shivers down the spine in all those involved in the film trade. Telangana Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav had issued a clarification regarding the same. “Industry and the families dependent on the industry have suffered a lot during the Lockdown. There is no plan to shutdown the theaters,” he said.

“Please do not spread such rumors and create panic in the stakeholders. Theaters will continue to function as how they are doing taking COVID-19 safety measures,” the Minister added. This announcement has come as a huge relief for the industry especially as several biggies are lined up in the Summer.

Pawan Kalyan‘s Vakeel Saab will be the first Biggie releasing this Summer. The movie will release on April 9th.
