Telangana government not to bill AP for transferred mandals! Telangana government had decided not to claim refund of charges incurred on 4,500 students of residential schools from 7 Khammam mandals that were transferred to AP. These mandals were with Telangana earlier but were transferred to AP via an ordinance to facilitate Polavaram Project.

Despite the ordinance getting cleared in July, it almost took AP government nearly six months to take these mandals in to control. Until then Telangana government paid 800 per month on these students belonging to 23 schools and two hostels.

Even Telangana government was paying salaries to the 2,000-odd employees of various departments with Telangana nativity even as they discharged duties for the neighbouring state. Majority of the employees have returned to Telangana, but there are few cases of delay in division of staff and establishments have still come to notice.
