In less than a week, Hyderabad has been hit by the second record-breaking Rain. The City of the Pearls has witnessed the Top-2 Highest Rainfalls of the last 100 years for the month of October in just one week bringing the city on to its knees.
Several low-lying areas where water is yet to recede were full to the brim once again and there are several reports of the loss of human lives. GHMC is struggling to bring things to normal but that is not going to be easy considering the quantum of the destruction.
While we can discount the first instance as the act of God, it is appalling to see how the State Government has failed the citizens even in the Second. There is absolutely no warnings, no evacuation, no preparedness from the Government.
The Rain got down uninformed and made people struggle. What makes things worse is that just like COVID deaths, the Government is keeping the Rain Deaths a secret. Except for some instances where the media is reporting, there is no information from the Government.
Meanwhile, there are rumors that the Government is already thinking on the lines of postponing the GHMC Elections fearing the Public wrath. GHMC Elections were supposed to happen in December. There are instances of the TRS Corporators being Gharoed in some areas.
