Telangana-Government-Bows-Down-to-LT-Demands-1L&T, the concessionaire of Hyderabad Metro Rail Project need 70 MW power per day to operate Metro Rails in the city. But then, L&T is of the opinion that it will get power at a cheaper rate in the open access system than from the Southern Power Distribution Company of the state.

So, it has intimated the government that it will purchase power from Open Access System. Last to lose it was decided to collect 7 per unit by creating a separate category. But fearing losing a potential customer in HMRL, Government decided to decrease the price.

Now, each unit power supplied to Hyderabad Metro Rail Project will just cost 3.95 Rupees per unit. The 30-km stretch from Nagole to Miyapur is likely to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 28th.
