Telangana Gets a Shock on AP BhavanThe Union Home Ministry seems to have come to a decision on the sharing of AP Bhavan. In a meeting via video conference, Home secretary Rajiv Mehrishi told the officials of both the sides to act in accordance with the AP Reorganisation Act, and not bring up historical facts regarding the sharing of assets of AP Bhavan.

The Union Home Secretary opined that Telangana state was formed on the basis of the AP Reorganisation Act; and if the sharing of the assets of AP Bhavan were to be decided based on historical evidence, then history would have to be dug up on many other matters as well which would only complicate things for the new state.

Telangana has laid the stake on the AP Bhavan in Delhi saying that the land belongs to Hyderabad State in 1953 and the Government of India took it from Nizam. Telangana government argued that all the Nizam assets belong to Telangana state. With the latest stance of the center, it will be divided on population ratio.
