Telangana Chief Minister KCR started a bad trend of inducting MLAs won from other party symbols into his Cabinet. Later Chandrababu Naidu picked up the trend in Andhra Pradesh. Even after getting a decisive mandate in the recent elections, KCR is doing the same once again in the second term as well.
He already forced the merger of Congress Legislative Party into TRS Legislative Party encouraging the defection of 12 MLAs elected on Congress Tickets. Now, KCR is all set to give Cabinet Berth to Sabitha Indra Reddy who got elected from Chevella on Congress Ticket and now in TRS.
Another MLA, Vanama Venkateswara Rao is also likely to be inducted into the Cabinet. Taking Sabitha into the cabinet will mean that Telangana will have its first ever woman Minister through defections. Vanama will bring Khammam representation into KCR’s Cabinet.
After the disappointing result in the recent MP Elections, KCR does not want to take any risk of sidelining Harish Rao. We have reliably learned that he will bring back KTR and Harish Rao into the Cabinet. However, Harish is unlikely to get his previous irrigation minister portfolio.
