Telangana Drags Andhra Pradesh Govt To CourtTelangana Power Production Company, Telangana Genco, Telangana Genco Pension and Gratuity Trust, and Telangana Genco Provident Fund Trust have approached the Telangana High Court.

The petitioners say AP Genco owes 4,774 Crores to them.

AP Genco’s 972 Crore excess in common loans, 882 Crore worth Telangana Discom bonds with AP Genco, 2,172 Crore arrears from AP Genco trusts, 784 Crore towards Krishnapatnam power project are among these 4,774 Crore.

They also claim 2,074 towards interests.

The issues are not resolved even after several rounds of discussions and so, there is no way except to approach the court, the petitioners informed the court.

Notices have been issued to AP Genco, AP Genco Pension and Gratuity Trust, AP Genco Provident Fund, AP Power Coordinating Committee, AP Electricity Chief Secretary, and Union Government Power Secretary.

The High Court ordered an explanation within four weeks and postponed the next hearing to August 11th.

Interestingly, Telangana Government also owes monies towards power supplied by the AP Government after the initial days of bifurcation. The then Chandrababu Naidu government has moved the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) for pending 4,000 Crore from Telangana’s power distribution entities against supply of power for over three-and-a-half years.

Jagan government after coming to power slowed the proceedings after coming to power as goodwill towards KCR Government.
