However Andhra Pradesh still leads in the income of liquor and petroleum products. Till February, Telangana has got 27873 Crore while AP got 26947 Crore.

Telangana government has made few changes to the VAT Act and managed to increase the income. With these measures, Telangana managed to register 12% growth when compared to last year. If the state manages to get the arrears in Central Sales Tax (CST), this growth will climb up to 15.70%.

AP gets half of its VAT income from liquor and Petroleum Products. Telangana has earned 2416 Crore more than AP in the income of remaining items than these two. AP had managed to get 18 Crore more on Liquor and 1472 Crore on Petroleum Products than the last year. As expected, VAT income from Telangana is mostly from Hyderabad.
