Telangana Compares itself to The US in Corona Crisis

In the wake of severe criticism about Telangana Government’s mishandling of the Corona Crisis, Director of Medical Education, K Ramesh Reddy came before the media and some of the comments he made in the press conference is creating a huge uproar in the social media.

“The Government did not create the virus, people should take care of themselves. The Health Department is not hiding the data of infections. There will be more cases in the next few days. Telangana is better than America in handling the crisis,” he said.

America is the worst-hit country due to Coronavirus. A comparison with that country may indicate that things in Telangana are worse. Even if the Government is comparing itself to America in handling the Crisis, it can not because the United States has done 36,255,888 tests to date.

Even India has a whole is not comparable to the United States in testing. When it comes to Telangana, the state is among the lowest number of tests in the country. K Ramesh Reddy also said that high number of cases common in populated cities like Hyderabad which may be true. “The number of cases is not at all an issue. The only problem is with the Government’s lack of testing, isolation, and treating policy,” social media junta says.
