The recently held meeting, with regards to changing the AP Film Chamber of Commerce (APFCC) to Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce due to the state bifurcation, did not go very well with the producers from Telangana. Vijayender Reddy, who represents Hyderabad Film Chamber of Commerce (HFCC), strongly opposed the idea of the present AP Film chamber continuing its lead by renaming the board to Telugu film chamber. He demanded the division of everything since the state has been divided.

The producers from Telangana state are keen on developing their own and claim that they don’t oppose Telugu cinema but, at the same time, they also want to promote Telangana cinema since that is their culture. In regards to this, the Telanga producers said that, “Our culture is different; we need to have our share of revenues and separate offices. If AP Film Chamber ignores us, we will seek for government action.” On the flip side, Burugupalli from APFCC said that there is no reason to split and share revenues since it’s not a commercial body and changing the name to Telugu should work for both the states. It is heard that there will be another meeting on 30th and a final call will be made on that day regarding this issue.
