Telangana Budget 2016-17 HighlightsTelangana Finance Minister Eetela Rajender presented a 1,30,415 Crore Budget for the financial year 2016-17 which registered 14,726 Crore more than the last year’s 1,15,689 Crore budget. While the Plan Expenditure is put at Rs. 67,630 crore, while the Non-Plan Expenditure stands at Rs. 62,785 crore. The state government had claimed a revenue surplus of Rs. 3,718 crore while the fiscal deficit is at Rs. 23,467 crore or 3.5 per cent of the GSDP. Here are some of the allocations made to various sectors:

Irrigation projects – Rs 25000 crore
Mission Bhagiratha – Rs 40000 crore
Health sector – Rs 5967 crore
Education sector – Rs 1694 crore of planned expenditure and Rs 9044 crore of planned expenditure
Loan Waiver – 3718 Crore
SC welfare – Rs 7122 crore
ST welfare – Rs 3552 crore
BC welfare – Rs 2538 crore
Aasara pensions – Rs 4693 crore
Kalyana Lakshmi scheme – Rs 738 crore
Women and Child Welfare – Rs 1553 crore
Brahmin Welfare Corporation – Rs 100 crore
Roads and Buildings – Rs 3333 crore
Panchayat Raj and Rural Development – Rs 10731 crore
Urban Development – Rs 4815 crore
Industries – Rs 967 crore
IT and Communications – Rs 254 crore
Special Development Fund – Rs 4675 crore
