The common capital clause in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization bill is proving to be more of a boon to Telangana State. Every day 400 to 500 private and public vehicles carrying 30,000 — 40,000 people from Seemandhra are coming to Hyderabad on their work reasons or to meet AP ministers, officials and MLAs and they stay for 3-4 days, Hyderabad is deriving Rs 300 crore to Rs 400 crore every month from taxes on every purchase they make in the capital. Also according to a survey 2 years ago, people coming to Hyderabad spend Rs 150-200 on an average and again Telangana gets income from this.

It is known that several government offices of AP are being operated in Telangana state. Andhra Pradesh government paying salaries to their employees in Hyderabad is incurring a loss. There are around 4,000 state government employees working in Hyderabad including at the Secretariat. Around 1,000 IAS and IPS officers allotted to AP are also working in Hyderabad. House Rent Allowance (HRA) for government employees in Hyderabad is 30 per cent of basic pay while its 20 per cent in Vijayawada and Guntur cities. AP government is paying 10 percent extra as the employees are working in Hyderabad. Also the professional tax of all the employees amounting to 300 Crore per year is going to GHMC through which again Telangana is being benefitted.
