KCR--Telangana-Amazon-web-Series(AWS) had announced an investment of Rs 20,761 crore ($2.77 billion) to create multiple data centers in Hyderabad. Amazon already has its largest campus building across the globe in Hyderabad.

Amazon Web Services will be setting up an AWS Region with three Availability Zones (AZs) in Hyderabad. The AWS Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) Region is expected to start operations by mid of 2022. The state, the last year, unveiled its Data Center Policy, and IT Minister K Taraka Ramarao has been pursuing this project ever since his Davos Trip in 2019.

The setting up of the AWS Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) Region will ensure more developers, startups, enterprises, government, education, and non-profit organizations to run their applications and serve end-users from data centers located in India. AWS arriving in Telangana is expected to support the state’s digital economy and IT sector in a multi-fold way.

The Hyderabad Cloud region will join the existing Mumbai region to provide customers with even greater resiliency for critical cloud workloads, lower latency, and improved compliance capabilities. This coveted investment will make the city a preferred destination for data centers.
