Telangana All Set for First By-Election After General ElectionsElection Commission of India had announced the schedule for Assembly Elections in Maharashtra and Haryana. Schedule is also announced for By-Elections in 64 constituencies of various states in the country. Telangana will be facing its By-Election after the General Elections with Huzoornagar.

Huzoornagar fell vacant after PCC President, Uttam Kumar Reddy got elected as an MP and had to resign. Uttam is mooting his wife, Padmavathi Reddy as the candidate while another senior Leader, Revanth Reddy is opposing it. It has to be seen what the High Command decides.

The notification will take place on 27th September and 4th October is the last date of nomination. The Scrutiny of nominations will take place the next day and 7th October is the last date of withdrawal of candidature. The Polling will take place on 21st October and the Counting of votes will take place on 24th October. Results will be on the same day.

Congress is keen on retaining the seat while BJP wants to prove that its recent success in the Parliament Elections is not a fluke. TRS, on the other side, wants to prove that it is still the most popular party in Telangana.
