YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is giving importance to creating a perception in the people than more than anything else. Hence he is reviewing the constituencies held by the Opposition as if to give a feeling he is keen on wresting them.
After Kuppam and Addanki, it is Tekkali now. Surveys so far suggest that Kupppam and Addanki are going the TDP way but there is an outside chance in Tekkali as sitting MLA Atchannaidu is said to be not taking a section of TDP leaders and cadre into confidence.
But then, Jagan may have ruined the chance with candidate selection. MLC Duvvada Srinivas is announced as the candidate for 2024.
Duvvada contested for the same seat in 2009 and 2014 but lost on both occasions. After YSRCP came to power, he earned a bad name for his highhandedness in the constituency.
Recently, he messed with the Kapu community as well for abusing Pawan Kalyan and resorting to violence against some Janasena supporters.
Furthermore, Perada Tilak who lost on the YCP ticket in 2019 and Former Union Minister Killi Kruparani are also expecting the ticket and will be disappointed with this move.
And that may create no problems for the party in the constituency.
Winning Tekkali is very important for Jagan because Atchannaidu and his family always proved to be a throne in the flesh for him and the party. So, he wants to get him defeated at any cost.
