Reports are emerging that Jagan Mohan Reddy had decided to change Tekkali’s Incharge. He earlier announced MLC Duvvada Srinivas as the candidate for 2024. But now is going to replace him with his wife, Vani.
Duvvada Vani previously worked as the Srikakulam ZP Chairperson and is currently a ZPTC. Buzz in the constituency is Vani is insisting on the ticket and Jagan obliged thinking women will have a natural advantage.
Another buzz in the constituency is that this is a drama by the husband and wife since a defeat will be a face-saver for Duvvada Srinivas. Also, if Vani wins, there will be two posts in the family (MLA and MLC).
Tekkali is the stronghold of TDP. Atchennaidu has won two elections on a trot and is keen on a hat trick.
Duvvada contested for the same seat in 2009 and 2014 but lost on both occasions. After YSRCP came to power, he earned a bad name for his highhandedness in the constituency.
Recently, he messed with the Kapu community as well for abusing Pawan Kalyan and resorting to violence against some Janasena supporters.
Moreover, there is a problem of Group politics with senior leaders like Perada Tilak and Former Union Minister Killi Kruparani unhappy with the party high command.
Winning Tekkali is very important for Jagan because Atchannaidu and his family always proved to be a throne in the flesh for him and the party. So, he wants to get him defeated at any cost.
