Team India To Have A New Captain for ODIs?If reports emerging are to be believed, BCCI is mulling in the change of captaincy for Team India‘s ODI Unit. Sources say that as a part of the preparation for the World Cup in 2023, BCCI wants to groom Rohit Sharma as the Captain of the team in the place of Virat Kohli. At the same time, Kohli will continue as the Test Captain.

Rohit Sharma captains Mumbai Indians in the IPL and some believe that he is a better Captain material than Kohli. Moreover, this change will also ease the burden of Kohli and will help him express freely. A decision on that may be taken after the West Indies Tour.

Team India will go on a tour to West Indies in August to play T20, ODIs, and Test Matches. Kohli and Rohit Sharma are likely to be rested and the Selectors may send a young team there. A decision on the leadership change may be taken after that Tour.

There are rumors that the Selectors Committee may also be made responsible for the recent mistakes in the World Cup and may have to face the repercussions. The 2023 World Cup will take place in the Sub-Continent. Host countries managed to win the World Cup all of the times since 2011.
