Telugu Desam Party once again stamped its authority in Khammam district. After bagging majority MPP seats in the districts on Wednesday, the party today displayed similar feat in the ZP Chairman elections. The party joined hands with communists in the election and have given Ex-Officio Member posts one each to CPI and CPM. With their support, TDP bagged both the Chairman and Vice Chairman posts.
TDP candidate G.Kavitha with the support of 22 of total 39 members is elected as the Chairperson. Vasudeva Rao of TDP is elected as the Vice Chairman with similar support. Traditionally TDP is strong in the district but the lack of coordination between Senior leaders Tummala Nageswara Rao and Nama Nageswara Rao costed the party dearly in recent elections. This win will come as a major boost to the party which is reeling under the pressure of poor results in Telangana.
