Kadapa is traditionally a strong seat of late YSR’s family. Rajasekhar Reddy represented Kadapa Parliament seat four times and his son YS Jagan Mohan Reddy won twice from here. However analysts says Telugu Desam Party with the support of BJP is making strong inroads in Kadapa. The traditional Congress voters are now more looking towards TDP after the state bifurcation and the weakening of Congress.

On the other side, YSR Congress is banking on the strong presence of Christian and Muslim communities present there. However with BJP present on TDP side, Hindu votes can be more polarized to TDP the analysts say. With YS Jagan contesting for Pulivendula Assembly seat this time, his cousin Y S Avinash Reddy is the party’s nominee for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat. Lets see if TDP can conquer the fort this time!
