Justice NV Ramana is going to be the next Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court’s in-house committee set aside the allegations made by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Ramana giving a cleanchit to the latter. On expected lines, Sakshi did not give much prominence to the news.
All other media houses have given this news as a Front Page Banner item as Ramana is only the Second Telugu person to have got this coveted opportunity. Meanwhile, TDP supporters are owning Ramana in this issue just because Jagan has reservations against him. Naturally, that owning will give a feeling to the outsiders that Ramana will bring some political benefit to TDP.
YSR Congress even though is not happy with the development is still taking TDP’s reaction as positive. “If at all we get any adverse judgment under Ramana, it will Naturally go into TDP’s account. By owning Ramana, TDP is making our job easier,” YSR Congress leaders admit.
Justice NV Ramana will be sworn in as the 48th Chief Justice of India on April 24th. Ramana will be in the post till August 26, 2022. His tenure will be the second largest tenure of any Chief Justice of India in the history so far.
