Opposition Leader Chandrababu Naidu has finalized Payyavula Keshav as the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman. This post is conventionally offered to the principal opposition party in the state. This appointment did not go well the other Seniors in the party who pinned hopes on this Cabinet Rank Post.
Atchannaidu Kinjarapu, Gorantla Chowdary, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Anagani Satyaprasad, Gadde Rammohan Rao, and Ganababu have hoped to be picked up for the post. Even though Ganta was considered, the rumors about a possible party change ensured that Chandrababu chose Payyavula Keshav for the Post.
Achennaidu and Gorantla Chowdary who are aggressively fighting the Ruling Party in the Assembly are very much disturbed with this appointment. Rumors are rife that Ganta is waiting to see if he will get this post and after being denied, he may take a decision about his political future.
On the other side, TDP cadre hails this move as a right given that Keshav is a good speaker and with this elevation, he will work harder for the party in the Opposition. Payyavula Keshav is a fourth-time MLA. Besides Chandrababu and Balakrishna, he is the only leader to have won on TDP ticket
