Telugu Desam Party leadership is often credited as the most tech-savvy leadership and it has come true once again in the COVID crisis. The party has launched a digital help desk to assist the COVID victims in distress. It has been trying to amplify and attend to various requests for beds, oxygen, medicines, etc for COVID victims.
They have launched a Hashtag #SOSTDP and have been trying to amplify all the requests coming under the hashtag using its social media presence. The party has been attending to some of the requests using its connections.
On May 3rd alone, the party could help thirty-eight out of the 42 cases for beds and is working on the remaining four requests. The party’s supporters are also pitching in help wherever possible. In Srikakulam, MP Ram Mohan Naidu also launched a Whatsapp number +91 7207387931 and a hashtag #CovidHelpSrikakulam to help the people of his constituency.
The party is the only political party in the entire country to have a digital help desk. The rest of the political parties should take a cue from TDP to come to the rescue of people in distress. Moreover, if a party in opposition can do so much, just imagine what the parties in power can do!
