Ruling Telugu Desam Party is gearing up to stall the proceedings of Parliament in the wake of Center confirming that Special Status can not be conferred to Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP Supremo Chandrababu Naidu called for a meeting of all the MPs and Senior Leaders on Sunday in Vijayawada to decide the future course of action.
TDP Vijayawada MP, Kesineni Nani announced that TDP MPs are even ready for resignations to protect the interests of the state. Nani also reiterated that TDP is not keen on two central ministries and TDP is in the Union Cabinet to benefit the states. We are told that Chandrababu is considering all the options including pulling out of NDA as a final choice.
Given that Center is planning to move the crucial GST bill, stalling the parliament may put pressure. On the other side, YSR Congress had called for a statewide bandh on August 2nd against the Union and the State governments. Congress and YSR Congress leaders across the state are burning effigies of the center and the state governments.
