It is the season of Party Jumpings in Nandhyal. The game is so confusing that one could not remember which leader is in what party. Blink and you miss a lot of action as TDP and YSR Congress are working their heart out to win the by-election at any cost.
The latest in the list is Gangula Pratap Reddy. He had won from the Nandyal Lok Sabha constituency in 1991 general elections. He shot to fame by vacating the seat for the then Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao, who subsequently contested in the by-election late in 1991, after becoming the Prime Minister.
Gangula is influential in the crucial Gospadu Mandal where YSR Congress is strong and banking on to win this by-election. TDP so far is leading in the Urban area and with Gangula joining will be hoping to cut down YSR Congress as much as possible in Gospadu Mandal.
This is a huge benefit for TDP just days before the election. If at TDP wins this election, Pratap Reddy may be given the MLC seat left behind by Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy. The voting for the election will take place on 23rd of August. The counting will happen on 28th. The Results will be out on the same day
