Telugu Desam Party today received a major boost in Prakasam district. Congress Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasula Reddy joined TDP along with his followers in the presence of Chandra Babu Naidu. Magunta family has very good name in the district and also his arrival will fill up the leadership scarcity for TDP there. Magunta will be announced as TDP’s candidate for Ongole or Nellore Parliament in the last list of TDP candidates.
An established industrialist, Magunta is a senior politician. He got elected to Lok Sabha for the first time in 1998 was re-elected in 2004 and 2009. His family enjoys a good reputation in the Prakasam district for their welfare activities. Magunta family used to have good relations with TDP founder NTR too. With Magunta’s exit, Congress is further depleted in Seema Andhra region post the state bifurcation issue.
