Tamilians on Fire - Jallikattu, PETA and Cold Drinks!Tamil Nadu has shocked the Nation on the level of protest they are doing to save their traditional game Jallikattu which was banned by the Supreme Court with the petition of PETA claiming that the sport involves pain and cruelty of animals.

First, it was to lift the ban on Jallikattu and then to ban PETA. While the Jallikattu issue is still on fire, Tamilnadu has taken another responsibility of the welfare of farmers and started to protest against the sale of cold drinks like Coke and Pepsi, claiming that the production of these cold drinks consumes the Farmer’s water sources thereby creating a scarcity of water for the farmers.

The protest arose as a response to the suicides of farmers in the last few months. The students are now demanding a ban on cold drinks by smashing the bottles as a protest against the MNc’s. A few restaurants of the state in support to the cold drink ban have seized the sale of cold drinks in their places and also have displayed notices saying cold drinks are not sold at their hotels.
