Telangana Government passed the bill to increase the salaries of legislative members. With this bill Telangana MLAs becomes highest paid law makers in the country.
The salaries of MLAs has been hiked upto 163 percent and ministers upto 68 percent. While the salary of Chief Minister has been increased by 78 percent. CM KCR defended this decision by saying that one has to notice the hurdles faced by law makers in discharging their duties.
The bill also amended in such a way that wife’s of decreased MLAs shall get full amount as pension. However, people from several sections expressing their anger on the bill.
