The confusion regarding the submerging mandals of Polavaram project is almost cleared now. Despite the gazette notification of merging the mandals to Andhra Pradesh came out, Telangana government directed officials to carry out Telangana Micro Level Survey in those mandals. Andhra Pradesh government strictly opposed the Telangana government’s move to impose their ruling over AP citizens. Finally, Telangana government yielded to the pressure.
It is known that these 7 mandals (excluding Khammam Town) get submerged when Polavaram Project is constructed. Since it will be difficult to carry out rehabilitation works in these villages if they are in Telangana. So, these mandals are transferred to Andhra Pradesh for administrative convenience by a bill placed in Parliament in July month.
