YS Jagan Mohan Reddy took the help of Swami Swaroopananda Saraswathi before the 2019 elections to appease the Hindu voters. Coming from a family of evangelists, Jagan even made Temple Trips to attract Hindu Voters. There were even rumors that Jagan made Ghar Wapasi to Hinduism.
The Swamy used to be a strong vocal supporter of Jagan and used to resort to Political Criticism of the then Chandrababu Naidu.
Once in power, Jagan used to take the advice of Swamy on every matter. We have seen people getting nominated to the TTD board on Swamy’s recommendation. We have seen Jagan gifting a 15 Crore land in Kothavalasa at a nominal cost of One Lakh Rupees per acre.
YSR Congress leaders used to beeline to the Swamy every now and then to keep his name buzzing.
But all of sudden, for the last few months, there has been no political activity around Swaroopanada.
The other day, he suddenly appeared at Simhachalam to participate in Nijaroopa darsanam of Narasimha Swamy in Chandanotsavam.
“The conditions here are pathetic. I feel why I had the Darshan today. Simhachalam is the temple of Poor not the influential (పేదల దేవుడు పెద్దల దేవుడు కాదు). I feel like crying seeing common devotees suffer. It never happened in temple history previously. Officials’ behavior is pathetic. They will suffer for sure,” Swaroopananda said.
Swaroopananda criticizing something in Jagan Government has come as a surprise. Is Swamy feeling neglected and venting his disappointment in this way?
Some feel the recent developments of a Swamy from Karnataka coming all the way in a Special flight to ‘bless Jagan’ may have made Swaroopananda insecure.
But then, the Swamy should realize Jagan is someone who will not entertain a person for every. His priorities change with every season. We have seen him sideline someone like Vijayasai Reddy too.
