Survey - Andhra Pradesh Has Most Developed CountrysideUnion Rural Development Ministry had conducted a baseline survey of 50000 gram panchayats across the country and announced the list of 83 most developed villages across the country. Just seven of these villages are from North India.

Interestingly, Coastal Andhra Pradesh seems to have Most Developed Country Side. 33 Gram Panchayats of Andhra Pradesh are in this list. Four villages of Telangana found in the list with Tellapur of Sangareddy district being the best village in the country.

Parapatla of Chittoor district and Cheedikada of Vishakapatnam are ranked second and third on the list. 21 villages from Tamil Nadu are also on the list. Gujarat which is said to be the most developed state in the country has no village in the list.

This is definitely a commendable performance by Andhra Pradesh. The rankings are based on the parameters of infrastructure, economic development and livelihoods, health and sanitation, women’s empowerment and financial inclusion.
