CM-Jagan's-Shocking-PM-About-Coronavirus-and-Local-ElectionsIn what can be termed as a disappointment for the Ruling Party in Andhra Pradesh, Supreme Court had refused to interfere with Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission’s decision to postpone Local Body Election in the State by Six weeks due to Coronavirus scare.

However, it has granted a minor relief for the Ruling Party saying that the election code will not be in force till the next schedule is announced four weeks before polls. The apex court, however, asked the Government not to announce any new scheme till the elections are completed.

With the relaxation of code, the state government may go on with its plan of distributing House Sites to 25 Lakhs Poor in the state. It is an already announced scheme and is unlikely to get any issues. It is known that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy lambasted the State Election Commissioner, N Ramesh Kumar alleging him of caste bias in the postponement.

The Ministers in Jagan’s Cabinet and YSR Congress leaders also unleashed an attack on the SEC terming him a caste fanatic and Chandrababu Naidu’s mole.
