Ahead of IPL 2022, all the IPL teams will go into a Mega auction. BCCI and the IPL are currently framing the rules to the auction which will see a major shuffle in the teams. IPL franchises are allowed to retain 4 players, either it can be 3 Indians and 1 overseas or 2 Indians and 2 overseas.
This rule can be a problem for Sunrisers Hyderabad as they may have to leave one out of their two marquee players – Kane Williamson and David Warner. There will be no Right To Match, we are told. Rashid Khan, Kane Williamson, and David Warner are key overseas players for SRH.
They surely can not let Rashid go. If he is retained and if the Two plus Two formula is adopted, Only one from Kane Williamson and David Warner can be retained and the other has to go into the auction. Both Kane and Warner are very popular players and not easy to make a decision.
Meanwhile, the second leg of IPL 2021 which has been suspended due to a bio-bubble breach will happen in UAE in September and October.
