The Enforcement Directorate officials that raided residence and offices of TDP senior leader and former Union Minister Sujana Chowdary alleging him of financial irregularities and money laundering summoned him to appear before ED on November 27th.
Until TDP was part of the NDA, Sujana Chowdary was Minister of Science and Technology and it was in March TDP pulled out off the NDA and waging a war against the centre since then. Hence it is said that NDA took back door revenge sending IT and ED teams to AP to raid on TDP leaders and businessmen who are close to TDP leaders. ED raids on Sujana Chowdary too is said to be part of the same strategy by BJP.
Meanwhile, the TDP leader called for a press meet and cleared air. With many stories churned on social media, Sujana called for the press meet and said that the entire fiasco is ridiculous and said that ever since 2009 (when he became active in mainstream politics) he’s been targeted. He said that under Sujana group there are three companies and said he never contacted anyone by emails. He said while he was promoter some companies were bought and some sold. Sujana admitted that his companies never resorted to smuggling or forgeries. As for luxury cars he said that three are in the name of his son’s company and not shell companies. He even questioned rationale of ED officials to place on record 5700 crores with one day raids. Sujana said all the allegations against him are baseless and untrue
