CRDA commissioner Sriknath - World Bank teamA team from World Bank has completed its four days tour of CRDA region. The World Bank is reportedly in favour of giving loan as a part of Amaravati Susceptible Capital City Development Project (ASCCP). Andhra Pradesh is expecting a loan of 6600 Crore from the World Bank which will be mostly used for the creation of infrastructure development in the Capital Region.

Another team of World Bank will visit Amaravati in August and will then finalize the quantum of the loan. The state government managed to get the necessary clearances from the Union government for this loan. Now the onus is on the Modi government to live up to the promise of funding all the expenses for the major government buildings.

Given that the Union government is extremely insensitive to the needs of the state government, CM Chandrababu Naidu is exploring alternative ways to get things going. This in principle loan approval from World Bank will come as a huge relief for the leader who is keen on giving the capital a shape by 2019 elections.
