Andhra Pradesh Government had stopped Power Supply to Telangana over the arrears of 4449 Crore. Telangana Government had also stopped Power to Andhra Pradesh. Since AP supplies more, this act has resulted in 459 MW of Power Saving to the state.
On the other side, due to the onset of the monsoons, Power Demand also fell drastically as a result, abundant Power is available in the state. Using this opportunity, the state government had decided to give 24X7 Free Power to the farmers ahead of a new crop season.
Stopping Power to Telangana had helped TDP Government in a way that its good will in the farmers will improve. The Chief Minister had decided to give Free Power to farmers instead of giving it to Telangana and wait endlessly for them to clear the arrears.
Besides Thermal Power, Solar and Wind Power also increased abundantly in Chandrababu Naidu’s regime. Three Major Power Units in the state were temporarily shut down due to various reasons. More Power will become available if they are into operation.
