Srikakulam District is the stronghold of the Telugu Desam Party since its inception. In Jagan’s wave in 2019, YSR Congress stunned everyone by winning eight out of the total ten seats. In recent surveys, TDP is looking promising and is set for a strong comeback.
But at the same time, there are problems all over for YSR Congress due to Group Politics. Except for Dharmana Prasada Rao’s Srikakulam, there are Groupism problems in every constituency.
The district in-charge Botsa Satyanarayana initially did some hulchul trying to address the issues but later became silent. There are three groups in Ichhapuram and there is a group opposite Minister Seediri Appalaraju in Palasa.
There are three groups in Tekkali and even a group opposite Former Deputy CM Dharmana Krishnadas in Narasannapeta.
Even for a senior like Speaker Tammineni, there are two opposing groups in his Amudalavalasa constituency.
MLA Kiran in Etcherla and Reddy Shanthi in Pathapatnam are facing similar problems.
Jagan gave importance to the district leaders after the elections. The leaders from the lost constituencies were also given nominated posts. But still, there are problems in the party in the district.
The party cadre is saying that things are bad for the party in the district and that can be disastrous for the party in 2024.
