ARUN JAITLEY special statusUnion Finance Minister Arun Jaitley may have delivered the final blow on the hopes of Andhra Pradesh people regarding the Special Status. Speaking on Bihar CM, Nitish Kumar demand about Special Status demand, Jaitley said the era of Special Status ended with 14th Finance Commission recommending that it should not be given to any state going further.

Jaitley also reminded that how 14th Finance Commission accorded constitutional status to devolution of tax income between Center and state and he said it will be more than enough to do good to the states. On the mention about AP’s demand, Jaitley said special care will be taken to cover up the bifurcation losses.

Previously Jaitley would say Special Status issue is being examined by Niti Aayog but now totally turned down the issue. People back here would have been pacified if Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a hefty Special Package to the state in his Amaravati visit. But BJP disappointed the state in all fronts.
