Special Status Controversy Chandrababu Naidu Silently Does His JobEven though there is a criticism of TDP Government for accepting Special Package instead of Special Status, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is silently going about his job in deriving maximum benefit from the Special Package. In the Package, Centre’s share in both Central Aided Projects (CAP) and External Aided Projects (EAP) to 90 percent from the existing 60 percent.

Naidu is keen on getting as many as EAPs to be approved for the state to derive maximum benefit. Andhra Pradesh had put up 16 proposals for 65,458 Crores worth Externally Aided Projects (EAPs). The center had approved for Projects worth 13,649 Crore.

Naidu is keen on pushing the center to approve more proposals so as to benefit from the additional Share of the Center from the Special Package. EAP schemes offer money at lower interest rates and also moratorium in the name of tax holiday starting from three to seven years. With this additional share of the Center, they will be big advantage to the state government.
