The last Date for the applications for the Coaching and Support Staff of Team India is finished and according to the sources, as many as Six have applied for the Head Coach Position. Michael Hesson, Gary Kirsten, Lal Chand Rajput, Robin Singh, Mahela Jayawardene, and Tom Moody are the Six.
Michael Hesson is New Zealand’s longest-serving coach and is also at the helm when the Black Caps went to 2015 World Cup final. Gary Kirsten previously coached Team India and steadied the team after Greg Chappell controversy. He is instrumental in winning the 2011 World Cup.
Lal Chand Rajput is the coach of Zimbabwe Cricket Team. Robin Singh had an extensive coaching profile with U-19, Hongkong, India A and also was the fielding coach of Team India in 2007. He coached Deccan Chargers in IPL and led Mumbai Indians to win Four Trophies.
Tom Moody was one of the respected names as a Cricket Coach. He has led Sri Lanka to the 2007 World Cup final and then coached several teams in the Big Bash League and IPL. Mahela Jayawardene is considered one of the Modern Day Legends and he has won two IPL trophies in the last three years at the helm of Mumbai Indians.
Ravi Shastri, the current Head Coach will also be considered automatically and has the support of Skipper Virat Kohli. It has to be seen who of these will get the coveted position.
