Last night stones were pelted on popular singer Mangli’s car in Karnataka. On Saturday night, Mangli took part in the Bellary Utsav program at Bellary’s Municipal College Ground.
After her performance, she went backstage where fans in big numbers were waiting to meet her. Some even entered her private makeup tent. A stampede-like situation developed, and the police had to intervene. They did a minor lathi charge on the people to control the crowds.
Mangli trying to escape the mayhem, got into her car and tried to escape from the place. But some angry fans pelted stones at her car and broke the window panes.
If you guys remember, a few days ago Mangli attended another event in Chikballapur where she addressed the crowd in Telugu. When the anchor tried to correct her by saying most of the crowd there were Kannadigas and asked her to speak in Kannada.
But Mangli said that since Anantapur was nearby, people would understand her speaking in Telugu. A video about this incident went viral, which apparently hurt some hardcore Kannadigas.
Now police are investigating if any of those people who got hurt by her speaking in Kannada threw stones at her car in Bellary.
