Singareni to Decide Nalgonda Bypoll?Reports are emerging that Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukender Reddy submitted his resignation from the Lok Sabha to TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday. But then, KCR is yet to take a final call on the bypoll.

Sources say that the decision will depend on the result of Singareni Collieries Elections. Elections to the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) are fought by recognized trade unions affiliated to various political parties.

This election covers the voters of 12 assembly constituencies located in five districts and so is more like a survey on the mood of the people. The elections will be held on October 5th. The ruling party had deployed 50 MLAs and 5 MPs including KCR’s daughter Kavitha to bag the election at any cost.

So, this will be a mini-referendum of a sort and a positive result will mean that KCR will ensure byelection in Nalgonda. If the result is not favourable, the Chief Minister may scrape the idea of bypoll. It has to be seen what is in store on October 5th!
