Income Tax Department has completed raids on all the residences and Offices belonging to TDP Rajya Sabha MP, CM Ramesh a little while ago. TDP Leader Beeda Mastan Rao, another Rajya Sabha MP, Sujana Chowdary and former TDP Leader, Revanth Reddy were also raided by the department previously.
Interestingly, the officials who raided these leaders refused to give any notice or did not even refuse to give any reason or allegation behind the raids. Usually, whenever there is a raid, officials say there are complaints or doubts and this is the reason behind the raids. But nothing of such sort happened in all these cases.
This gives rise to doubts if the raids are going on only with Political Vendetta. The department did not even reveal their findings from the raids. While the raids are going on, a section of media speculated about these leaders amassing 1000s of Crores and department snatching proofs giving rise to more doubts.
CM Ramesh and Revanth Reddy immediately called for a Press Meet and refuted those allegations. Telugu Desam Leaders say that these raids may be to threaten those who are funding Telugu Desam Party of possible consequences if they do the same in the upcoming Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Elections.
